You can thank Laurel for that. “Her sister helps her find the new identity,” Lotz teases, noting that the change comes with seeing a new Sara when Legends kicks off. “She’s a little more easy going, a little more lighthearted. She’s seen it all. That has brought a little bit of a lightness to her. She’s not quite as heavy as she was. She can’t really take everything so seriously anymore.”

Well that’s it people the Winter final of Arrow was last night, And after last week’s disappointing episode this week we got a amazing well rounded storyline for her that gave Katie all the right parts to shine in and save the day. Yesterday Katie along with Stephen, David, Willa, Paul, John, Caity and Neal were are the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest 2015 for the day. They did a cast panel, Photo ops and signing. Photos from the day are now up in the gallery.
darhkfelicity was at the panel and had this to say about Katie there.
-her and caity lotz are so adorable together and were whispering together and sharing secrets the entire day
-it was her birthday
-she wants bi laurel lance
-her and a few other cast members (it wasn’t specified) had a conversation and now katie knows felicity would pay -on a date always
-she says all the arrow ladies have really formed a great support group together
-she loves working with katrina law
-she says she wouldn’t want to change the hard time’s laurel’s been through because she’s stronger because of it
-she literally is the sweetest person ever
-half the reason she was so late (according to the guy who was actually in charge of celebrity appearances himself and he said this to me directly, i didn’t hear it from someone else) was because she kept stopping to say hi to her co-stars and losing track of time
-she says she loves how all the actresses on arrow are so strong in their souls (idk how to say it like she did it was a big compliment)
-she said she loves emily
-she really really liked the laulicity cosplay
-she normally hates when people sing her happy birthday but thanked us anyways
-she’s really cute when she hides her face
-caity kissed her on the cheek after we sang
-she was half ready to dig into the cake they brought her with her bare hands and eat it onstage
-she offered cake to the audience members
-she was chewing a mint when she came onstage and was super flustered and adorable and caity and paul teased her about it for a while
-she started smiling really big at the idea of a smoaknlance/olicity double date so i think she’s super on board for that
-oh, and what else?

What Katie Wore – “Cue The Coats”

What do you ask yourself when you pick a coat in the morning? Is it just the weather that clouds your judgment, or is there some other statement-making factor that you consider when pulling that pea coat off of the hanger as you bypass your parka?
Having spent more than our fair share of afternoons standing shivering in the wind in a less than substantial outer garment, we’d argue that, whether you’ll admit it or not, the weather is only a factor (albeit substantial, at times) in your outerwear decision matrix. More likely than not, you consider color, coordination and that “me” component as you waltz through your closet playing both judge and jury amongst your coat collection.
So here’s the problem we run into: Who knows what coat you are going to want to wear at any given time, so how does one prepare for the biting cold most definitely ahead?
Given our mercurial taste, over the years we started in the outerwear arena by playing it safe and investing in three classic options with the intent to move on from there. We started with a classic pea coat in a neutral camel – when all else fails there is no better fallback plan. We moved on to a long pinstripe number (another easily incorporated style), and rounded our collection out with a parka with some pizazz (aka, fur), because sometimes the weather really is the most important consideration.
And that held us over for awhile. Until one day, out of the frost-bitten blue, we started feeling a little more in need of a statement and we branched out to houndstooth, which was just a slippery slope away from leather accents and color (oh my!). And once you start playing with color, well….
Tell us our picker isn’t going to point at this oversized amazingness everyday this winter. Just try.

Pop Culture Principle Talks To Katie Cassidy

It would seem that The CW Network is a good luck charm for actress Katie Cassidy. She’s made appearances on series such as Gossip Girl and Melrose Place.
She became a household name as Ruby on the series Supernatural which is currently in its eleventh season.
Currently, she stars in the hit series Arrow as Laurel Lance/ Black Canary. Over the past several seasons, her character has been through a lot, but now she gets to join the fight with Team Arrow.
We sit down with Katie to talk about her character’s journey so far, what it was like to put on the Black Canary costume for the first time and her thoughts about a Birds of Prey team up.
Pop Culture Principle – Laurel Lance has definitely had her ups and downs in the sreies so far. As and actor, how have you enjoyed playing a character that has so many layers?.
Katie Cassidy – Honestly, it’s been everything and more. The way I work as an actor, I’ll do script analysis and come up with a backstory and try to make the script and character as legitimate as possible. The thing that is so brilliant about Laurel, the writers and our producers, is that only a part of me had to fill in the backstory. Laurel and her arc, journey and evolution into becoming the Black Canary to me was very legitimate. You didn’t’ see here wake up one day, jump out there in a suit and be a professional.I feel like the character and myself as an actor, I feel like it was earned and it was honest and it was true. I was seriously going through training while Laurel was going through training when I wasn’t on set. I was waking up at five in the morning and seeing my trainer for an hour before I would go to set to work for fourteen hours or whatever it might be.
With how busy our schedule is, just knowing and staying focused, it was definitely hard work, but I believe hard work really pays off. It’s been a dream to be a part of such a wonderful production and story and to get to play this character; I couldn’t be happier.
