In a major casting shakeup, “Twilight” thesp Billy Burke, Christian Slater, Michael Jai White and newcomer Breanne Racano have stepped in to replace Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser, Craig Robinson and Katie Cassidy in Charlie Matthau’s action comedy “Freaky Deaky,” which has also added Roger Bart to its ensemble.

Katie Cassidy dropped by our studios last week and gave us all the scoop on her new movie Monte Carlo, which opens on Friday.
Besides being a busy actress, Katie also is involved with a great charity called HELP Malawi. The organization is dedicated to sustainable primary education in impoverished African regions. They believe it is every child’s birthright to receive hope for a better future, education to grow, unconditional love, and protection from disease and illness.
Katie went to Africa about 2 years ago with the charity and shared with us, “going there, I didn’t necessarily know what my experience was going to be like. It doesn’t really hit you until you show up and I showed up at this school and these kids literally just come rushing towards you. They’re so happy to see other people. They’re so beautiful and they really want to learn and they’re really determined.”
Besides helping out over in Africa, Katie has also designed a special necklace for the organization’s “What Love Means” collection. The necklace is available in 14K gold and 14K gold plate and 100% of the proceeds go towards helping the kids. You can purchase the necklace here.

Here are two videos of Katie from last nights Monte Carlo screening, both are with PopstarMagazine she talks about working with Selena and cory, were she would like to get away to and Romance.
Last night in New York was the screening of Monte Carlo and Katie was on hand with her co-stats Selena Gomez and Andie MacDowe both Leighton Meester and Cory Monteith couldn’t be there as they are filming other things. Katie was wearing a little cute Bec & Bridge lace pink dress with pink heels to match, A mix of over 150 Hq and Mq photos from the event have bin added into the gallery with more to come.

The CW cutie revealed at the NYC premiere of Monte Carlo that her evil character, Juliet, may be back to cause more trouble on ‘Gossip Girl’!
Katie Cassidy, 24, looked pretty in pink at the Monte Carlo premiere on June 23. When we asked her if she will be returning to season 5 of Gossip Girl– Cassidy didn’t say “yes,” but she didn’t say “no.”
“I don’t know, we’ll see!” Katie said with a smile on her face.
I’m thinking that a definite “yes.” We already know Jessica Szohr, 26, who plays Vanessa, and Taylor Momsen, 16, who plays Jenny Humphrey, will not be returning to the show. With these two bad girls banished from Manhattan’s Upper East Side — who else is going to wreak havoc in the city that never sleeps?
Unfortunately, Cassidy’s Gossip Girl and Monte Carlo co-star Leighton Meester, did not attend the June 23rd premiere, or perhaps we could have received the full Gossip Girl scoop! But Cassidy told us it was weird going from friends to enemies — since their characters’ dynamics are so different in the movie.
“It was actually really different. It was really hard to go from that and then in a such short span go to our characters being so difficult with one another,” Kate said.
Do you think Juliet will return to the Upper East Side next season!?

EXCLUSIVE: “Gossip Girl” thesp Katie Cassidy is in negotiations to play the female lead in Charlie Matthau’s adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s crime novel “Freaky Deaky.”
Matt Dillon stars as an LAPD bomb squad officer who stumbles upon a plot by two former hippie activists who plan to use their bomb-making skills to trick an alcoholic movie mogul into handing over millions of dollars.
Cassidy will play Robin Abbot, one of the ex-hippies who went to jail for blowing up a police car. After being released, she starts a career as an historical romance novelist and reconnects with Brendan Fraser’s character in order to plot her revenge.
Matthau, who wrote the script and will produce, is currently looking to replace William H. Macy, who has dropped out of the picture.
“Freaky Deaky” is scheduled to start production next week in Michigan.
Cassidy previously appeared on the bigscreen in “A Nightmare on Elm St.” and “Taken.” Thesp next stars alongside Selena Gomez and Leighton Meester in Fox 2000’s “Monte Carlo,” which hits theaters July 1.
