Gossip Girl stars Kelly Rutherford and Katie Cassidy are urging fans to recycle their empty cosmetic bottles as part of a new environmental campaign.
The actresses launched the Garnier Cleaner Greener World Tour in New York’s Times Square on Monday (11Apr11) to encourage consumers to return their empty product containers to the beauty counter. The bottles will then be collected by officials at waste company TerraCycle, who will ‘upcycle’ by turning them into new containers.
Rutherford and Cassidy both posed in front of one of the dispenser bins emblazoned with the words, ‘Make your bottle count’.
