Katie Cassidy Dishes on Gossip Girl

Written by owner on October 24 2010

On Gossip Girl, Katie Cassidy plays Juliet, the new girl you love to hate, who’s stirring up some major drama this season. But in real life, Katie’s a super-sweet girl who dished on her fun Halloween costume, awesome style, and how to really deal with mean girls.

17: What’s the biggest difference between you and your GG character Juliet?
Katie Cassidy: I’d like to think I’m actually a nice person in real life [laughs]. I’m not sure Juliet is, although she may have evidence to back herself up for all the trouble she’s causing.

17: What about your similarities?
KC: She knows how to dress well, even though she doesn’t have a lot of money. I think she knows how to mix and match, and I like to pride myself a little bit, and I’m definitely learning from being on Gossip Girl.

17: How would you describe your personal style?
KC: My style during the day is very casual — boyfriend jeans, T-shirts, Converse, Uggs, whatever. At night, I love heels and thigh-highs, I like something fresh and new, and I’m not afraid to push the envelope. I’m usually drawn to dark colors, but I’m starting to introduce more colors!

17: Who are some of your favorite shoe designers right now?
KC: I love heels…whoever created heels is amazing! Elie Tahari, DVF, Jason Woo, Marchesa, and Alexander Wang!

17: What are you being for Halloween this year?
KC: I’m being Jane from Tarzan and Jane…but not the sexy Jane, the fully dressed Jane.

17: You play a mean girl on the show, but what’s your tip for dealing with mean girls in real life?
KC: I think you just have to kill them with kindness because it will eventually make them feel bad. Just be nice and don’t let it affect you!
