Wendy Mericle On Black Siren’s Return To Arrow

Written by owner on April 30 2017

Wendy Mericle did a new interview with CBR about what is to come with the last 5 episodes of Arrow and she had this to say about Black Siren.

Speaking of legacy, can you tease your favorite thing about Black Siren’s return?
WM:What I love the most about Black Siren is seeing Katie Cassidy play a badass. [laughs] I mean, she was a badass before as Black Canary, but playing this other role with this darkness to it… it’s just a very interesting color for her to play, as she did Laurel, which she did an amazing job. She brings so much to this role, and it’s really seeing Katie really nail the ins and outs of this character. I think the other interesting thing about it and my favorite part is the impact that it has emotionally on the people who knew Laurel before she was unfortunately killed in Season 4. What does it mean to see this person who looks exactly like this person you loved and have them come back and be evil? It raises all kinds of questions for the people who knew her best, and that part is just absolutely rich character territory that we can play with and we’re really excited about doing that going forward.

‘Arrow’: Katie Cassidy Returning as Series Regular

Written by Neide on March 27 2017

It looks like once again– Katie will be back on Arrow. Not as our beloved Black Canary but as Black Siren.

Katie Cassidy is returning to the DC TV family.

After her character Laurel Lance was shockingly killed off Arrow in season four, Cassidy is coming back to The CW series as Laurel’s evil Earth-2 doppelgänger Black Siren, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. She will appear in the final two episodes of season five before returning as a series regular for season six.

“One of the things that most excites us about Arrow is that we go where the story takes us,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement. “Last year, the story took us to the tragic death of Laurel Lance. This year, our midseason finale reintroduced us to Laurel’s doppelgänger, Black Siren. We were so taken by Katie’s fearless interpretation of this character that we knew her story was not yet finished. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Katie back to Arrow as Black Siren, though as her appearances on Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow this season show, she never really left the family.”

Cassidy first made her debut as Laurel’s evil metahuman twin from another universe on The Flash last season, where she was caught and imprisoned by Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). She was released from the STAR Labs pipeline prison by Arrow season five villain Prometheus (Josh Segarra) to cause emotional turmoil for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), as Oliver thought Laurel was miraculously resurrected by her time-traveling sister Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) on Legends of Tomorrow. When Oliver finally learned the truth, he caught her again with the help of Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Curtis (Echo Kellum) and handed her over to ARGUS for custody.

PaleyFest 2017: The Lance sisters will reunite on Legends of Tomorrow.

Written by owner on March 26 2017

The 2017 DC PaleyFest took place last week in LA and although Katie was not there her self we did get some more info on the part in the upcoming season final of Legends Of Tomorrow season 2.

Guggenheim shared on social media that Katie Cassidy would be reprising her role of Laurel Lance in the Legends finale, and he says the scene was a long time coming. “I have to give a shout-out to Katie Cassidy,” Guggenheim says. “It’s only one scene, but man, she’s spectacular in it. It’s a scene we’ve wanted to do since the beginning of the season. We really wanted to get Sara and Laurel back together.”

“It was wonderful,” adds Lotz. “Katie and I hadn’t been able to do a scene together in years. She feels like my sister now, so it was very emotional, nostalgic, and I think people will really like it.”

But will Laurel pop up on any of the other DC shows before the season concludes? “I can say absolutely nothing,” Guggenheim says.

Stephen Amell Talk’s About Black Siren

Written by owner on February 24 2017

EW: Oliver also believes that Black Siren can be redeemed. Will we see more of that by season’s end?
SA: I don’t know if we see it before the end of the season, but I do like that idea, and I do take that as a sign of growth that he’s looking for that little kernel [of redemption] that maybe exists somewhere.

Marc Guggenheim Talk’s About Laurel’s Next Return

Written by owner on February 14 2017

So Katie when from having a three show series regular contract to not having one now, Make up your mind Marc with what you are saying.

Contractual matters also may prove a hurdle in bringing Katie Cassidy back for another encore as one Laurel or another, even though Cassidy (as reported over the summer) entered the season with one of those #DCTV-wide deals that theoretically would allow her to pop up on Arrow or any of its many offspring.

“We have an idea for how to see [Katie] again, but we haven’t made a deal with her,” Guggenheim shared. “She’s not a series regular anymore, so we have to make a contract with her, and she’s got to be available. We haven’t had those conversations. But… we know exactly what we do want to do.

Touching on the larger issue of contracts, Guggenheim acknowledged that it gets “complicated” trying to retain actors for when you might need them, without keeping them from going out for pilot season this time of year.

“We try to make the process invisible in terms of our storytelling,” he said, “but there are just human realities and contractual realities that not only tie our hands, but tie the hands of everyone running a show these days — unless you’re Game of Thrones and you can just literally afford to, like, hold people for an entire year for ungodly sums of money.”

We Have Now Seen The Last Of Black Siren

Written by owner on January 29 2017

After the (disappointing) episode of Arrow this week we got to hear that team arrow is keeping Black Siren close at A.R.G.U.S. to see if they can make her become the Laurel they know, And Marc Guggenheim did a new interview with Entertainment Weekly and when asked about BS said that we haven’t seen the last of her yet in the Arrow world.

“I think that at the end of the day we sort of saw an opportunity to tell what we thought was an interesting story. I think one of the nice things of the episode that it did for us was that it sort of took Black Siren back from The Flash and sort of put her more on to Arrow’s orbit. That just opens up all sorts of interesting storytelling possibilities for us.”

“That was very intentional, like I said, a good chunk of the end of the episode was about putting Black Siren back in Oliver’s orbit. We could have very easily returned her to the pipeline in Central City, but Oliver and us as writers wanted to keep Black Siren close. Just yesterday in the writer’s room we were talking about all the different potential stories for Black Siren. You know, assuming Katie [Cassidy] is up for it, you haven’t seen the last of Black Siren. I think there is a lot of interesting stuff to be done and at the end of the day – to sort of go back to the point of toying with people’s emotions [laughs] – we really do break story according to a very, very simple barometer which is ‘Is it interesting? Do we have stories to tell?’

[With] Black Siren, there is a lot of potential there. Just this morning, driving into work, I was thinking about just how much I wanted to see a scene where [Quentin] Lance meets Black Siren. I just think that would be really, really, rich to see those emotional stuff. So again, with Katie’s participation, you haven’t seen the last of her.”

Arrow “5×10 – Who Are You” Screen Captures

Written by owner on January 26 2017

I just don’t no were to begin with the mess that is Arrow, First they put out a trailer that show’s it’s not Earth 1 Laurel but Earth 2’s one but getting to the episode it’s self Black Siren’s cry managed to destroy a building and take down the Flash and would kill a normal person (as said in the Flash) but now we are on Arrow it just knocks them over and that’s it. Black Siren has kick ass fighting skills (again as seen in the Flash) when she took down Barry but there were no were to be seen here and she could have used them a lot. BUT the one big thing is she got sucker punched by Felicity yes Felicity and is instantly knocked her out yet again on the Flash she got hit by a car and was back up again but nope one punch and she is out. Arrow has proven that it will never respect Dinah Laurel Lance, The Black Canary mantle or what the Flash did with Black Siren at the end of the day. And then there is the Tina thing with her now becoming the new The Black Canary as they no that they fu** up with killing the last one off so no she is going to stay dead but here is a new one for you all, I’m done with Arrow, Yes if Katie come’s back for a episode here or there I will watch it again but other then that goodbye show I can not take it any more. Ok I when a little over board on the rant here so I will end with HD screencaps from last night’s all new episode of Arrow 5×10 – Who Are You have been added to the gallery! Enjoy!

Will Sara Find Out About Laurel’s Return?

Written by owner on January 25 2017

NNow that Laurel Lance is apparently back in the land of the living on Arrow, will her sister Sara find out on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow?

Ever since Sara (Caity Lotz) learned Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) fate at the hands of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the White Canary has been determined to find a way to bring her sister back, especially now that Damien is among the main villains of Legends following the introduction of the Legion of Doom. After all, Sara was once dead and now leads the Legends as the new time cops, so why can’t the same be said for Laurel?

The topic wasn’t addressed in the winter premiere of Legends and, well, fans probably shouldn’t hold their breath. “We have not really figured out a check-in,” executive producer Phil Klemmer told EW when asked if Sara would find out about Laurel’s return.

Of course, this version of Laurel could very well not be Sara’s sister, but a doppelgänger from another Earth, but that’s not to say Laurel’s return won’t affect Sara should she eventually find out. “When we found [Sara] in the first episode of the show, she was this lost assassin without a purpose,” Klemmer says. “Over the course of the show, she’s not just become a member of the team, she’s become effectively the captain — in the absence of Rip [Arthur Darvill], she has taken the helm. Of course, if you take a character too far, like if you rehabilitate them, you really want to challenge them.”

“That really is her season-long struggle,” Klemmer continues. “We find her thirsting for vengeance, wanting to kill Darhk, and then she’s told she can’t do that without screwing up the timeline. There’s no way of reconciling: Both Darhk and Laurel can’t live, according to Sara. So, for her, it really is a question of: Is she going to be the assassin who kills him and gets to go home to having a sister, or is she the responsible time master who does what Rip would want her to do? We haven’t written the [season finale], so I don’t know what she’s going to do.”

Though Sara got some closure during the crossover — in which the heroes of Arrow were trapped in a Matrix-like construct that simulated life had the Queen’s Gambit never gone down — executive producer Marc Guggenheim previously told EW that Sara has not given up hope of reuniting with her sister. “This is, by no means, resolved in Sara’s mind,” he said. “I don’t know if it ever can be. She’s not only lost her sister, but she knows that there’s circumstances or there’s realities out there that make the possibility of bringing her sister back a real thing for her. But those possibilities are blocked by other realities — the reality that you can’t change history without major repercussions.”

The CW Renew’s Arrow For Season 6

Written by owner on January 22 2017

I don’t known if Katie will be about for season 6 but there is now more episode’s for her to do if she can.

January 8, 2017 (Pasadena, CA) — The CW Network has given early renewals to seven of its primetime series for the 2017-2018 season. The announcement was made today during the network’s session at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.
“Over the past several seasons, The CW has built a schedule of proven performers, from our lineup of DC superheroes, to critically acclaimed comedies, to sci-fi dramas,” said Pedowitz. “Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long.”
The series being ordered for the 2017-2018 season include ARROW (Season 6), CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (Season 3), DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Season 3), THE FLASH (Season 4), JANE THE VIRGIN (Season 4), SUPERGIRL (Season 3), and SUPERNATURAL (Season 13). Specific premiere dates for each series will be announced at a later time.

Arrow 5×10 Extended Trailer “Who Are You?”

Written by owner on January 22 2017

Well we are now under a week away from Katie’s next Arrow episode 5×10 – Who Are You? and as the last trailer gave it away (great job to the person who put’s there together there) Katie will be playing Earth 2’s Black Siren not are Black Canary who is still dead, There is no talk about Katie being in episode’s after this one so I guess we will have to see were she end’s up at the end but my guess is A.R.G.U.S. Till then you can watch the extender trailer below and read some things Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim have said.

TV Line: Following his appearance at the Television Critics Association winter press tour (for The CW’s “Behind The Heroes” VFX discussion/demonstration), Arrow co-showrunner Marc Guggenheim was asked about the aforementioned overshare.
“Without commenting on the promo, which I have nothing to do with…,” he diplomatically responded, “[and] without commenting on the spoiler, I would say that the episode ends with laying a very specific seed, with a very specific game plan on our part that we hope to see come to fruition.”

CBR: On Katie Cassidy’s unique return to the “Arrowverse” after Laurel Lance was killed off:
Greg Berlanti: We made a deal at the end of that season to bring her back for a bunch of episodes. Katie is a part of the fabric of the show. Because the show, like a comic book, can move in different ways, and characters go and come, everybody that’s ever been a part of the key and core ensemble has always had a place at the table for our show.

There’s the capacity for her to be [in all four shows]. At this moment, she’s in three of them.
