ET sits down with Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Katie Cassidy, two of the sexy tenants of the new “Melrose Place.” How did they like acting alongside some the “MP” originals on the pilot? And has Ashlee’s baby boy Bronx paid a visit to the set yet? Click the video to watch!
Ashlee, 24, and Katie, the 22-year-old daughter of David Cassidy, tell ET’s Kevin Frazier they’ve both enjoyed catching up on classic episodes of the original “Melrose Place,” because they were too young to watch the show when it began airing in the early ’90s!
“It’s such a great show,” Ashlee says. “There’s so much fun drama. But we have our whole new thing going on with our show. It’s new and it’s revamped and it’s gritty.”
Ashlee plays new “Melrose Place” tenant Violet, explaining, “She grew up in an adopted home and she’s coming to find her mother. So, she’s definitely looking for love, looking to be accepted.”
Speaking of mothering, the actress and singer tells us she enjoys balancing the demands of the role with her own mom duties. “I live close to the set, which is nice. And Bronx comes with me,” she says of her and hubby Pete Wentz’s little boy. “I like to keep [Bronx] on a schedule, so we’re working it out just right.”
Keep watching the video for more with Ashlee and Katie, including how they liked working with “Melrose Place” originals such as Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro on the new show’s pilot, and what guest stars are slated to appear!
Catch the premiere of “Melrose Place” this Tuesday at 9 p.m. only on The CW
