TV Line
SEASON FINALE (May 13): Cast member Juliana Harkavy told TVLine that the series’ penultimate closer — aka Emily Bett Rickards’ final episode — is “very exciting, and really emotional,” while Schwartz said, “Almost everyone who read it was in tears.” The EP also described the finale as “insane” and “huge” “in terms of action, in terms of characters that might be coming back, and in terms of the ending.” In fact, it is two finales-in-one. The flash-forward characters “have their own finale, which will be pretty large,” all adding up to an episode that is “extremely unique. It definitely propels you into Season 8.”

FAMILY TIES — The battle between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Emiko (Sea Shimooka) comes to a boiling point which brings back some familiar faces and leaves others in dire jeopardy

Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz spoke about this week’s episode, which put the spotlight on Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy Rodgers) and the arc she has gone on throughout the last few seasons. Now that Laurel is very clearly on a path to redemption, some had worried if she would be exiting the series, but Schwartz confirmed that that isn’t the case.

“Katie does not leave the show; she comes back this season,” Schwartz explained. “It appears like [she leaves], but it’s not true. She’s still [part of the show].”

After three weeks away the big Katie episode we were all waiting for was at last here 7×18 – Lost Canary and to tell you the truth I was thinking it was going to be a redo of my post when they killed Katie of the first time but no not only did they not kill her of but Beth at long long long last fixed the mistake that Guggenheim did and made Katie the black canary again. The episode revolved around who is Laurel Lance she is good or evil and at last we get Laurel’s emotional redemption as it all comes full circle, the friendship with Felicity is a amazing thing to watch in the episode and shows of the best of both girls, Same with Sara being back and trying to save Laurel and how they are still sisters. The episode in the present ends with Laurel going back to Earth 2 to right things over there and being given the Black Canary again but the real ending was in the future Laurel is back on Earth 1 in full Black Canary get up with the wig being back and saves Mia it was a OMG moment and I could not be more happy about how it all end’s. Now is Katie going to be on this season of Arrow after this episode well as she was seen filming the season final last week I’m going to say she will be out of the show for the next 4 episode or so and come back in 7×22 – You Have Saved This City to help team arrow. Over 900 HD screen captures from the episode are now up in the gallery

And here is the part of my surprise it’s Katie news movie Grace, The movie came out on April 1st on Showtime but I was finding it very hard to get a copy by a great good person gave me a hand with it for the site. This movie is so different from anything Katie has done in the past its full of hart gripping characters who are so flawed but show the best of humanity at the same time and was just beautifully filmed by Devin Adair and you can see why Katie won best actress for “Grace” at FirstGlance Film Festival 2018 for it. At this time there is no talk of a DVD or Blu-Ray release the future but I do hope they put one out as everybody should see this movie. HD screen captures are now up in the gallery for you all, enjoy!

Over the weekend (April 12th-13th) Katie made her first public event for 2019 at the MEFCC Comic Con in Dubai, she was there for the Friday and Saturday doing autographs, fan photos, interviews and two panels the one of Friday with her good friend and DC Fam Zachary Levi and Marvels Benedict Wong, Iwan Rheon & Ross Marquand and did a solo panel on the Saturday. Thanks to ZacharyLevi.org for sending us in some photos from the panel. It looks like Katie had a great time in Dubai at both the con and out and about and here is to more events to come from Katie.

From the panel with thanks to Nadim Safieddine

– Even though she was heartbroken when Laurel was killed off, in retrospect it allowed her to not get bored of the same role and play something completely new
– She found out two episodes beforehand that Laurel would die; the hardest scene she ever had to do was Laurel’s hospital death and they made her do it many times months later for the season five premiere. But James Bamford knew exactly what to say to bring out her performance.
– She enjoys playing evil, but it can be hard to remember what version she’s playing since both versions still go by the name of Laurel
– She knows she’s played a lot of horror roles but it’s the characters that intrigue her so she can’t help it
– She would DEFINITEY be interested in a Black Canary spinoff when Arrow ends!
– She got EXTREMELY emotional and choked up when asked about Arrow ending. The cast really has become her family after all these years. She was on the verge of sobbing.
– Catwoman is still one of her dream roles
– She has lots of secret projects coming up including stuff as a potential writer/director. She really wants to work behind the scenes!
– she told a fan she loved his super cool hat and he gave it to her (there are pics- it’s white and fluffy)
– She’s still roomies with Caity, whom she adores! She also reaffirmed that she and Danielle Panabaker were previously roommates
– Jensen and Jared were the best pranksters on Supernatural
– She loved the lighter tone on Flash and asked for it on Arrow so Laurel could have more fun. Guggenheim told her Arrow has to be darker
– She did lose weight in season 2 for the addiction storyline, and the rest of the cast was very impressed by her physical transformation in S3; she always wants more action but insurance doesn’t allow.
– She always found the legal scenes to be the hardest to memorize
– Someone asked what she would think of a romantic relationship between Black Siren & White Canary (blegh)- she graciously deflected
– She’s happy that Oliver is with Felicity so she can be badass on her own
– She loves Emily and is so proud of how Felicity became such a big part of the show! Also, she loves that there are so many canaries on the show! More kickass women! When a fan asked if she’s jealous of Emily, she said of course not and that she loves EBR dearly.
– She can’t do the Canary Cry for pics and cons because of contractual reasons; she doesn’t scream when doing the Cry on the show to protect her vocal chords and so as not to scare the neighbors- she advised Julianna to do the same for her cry
– she had a lot of input in her Canary costume
– She cant wait for us to watch “Lost Canaries” this Monday. NO SPOILERS!
– her new husband, Matt Rodgers, was with her and they’re going to head to Dubai for a second honeymoon; she seems very happy
– she has 5 cats and 2 dogs- she calls it a “fur family” and can’t wait to spend more time with them after Arrow ends; she invited people to follow her cat Carlos on Insta
– She’s a huge gamer and loves it because she gets to detach
– A fan said she was incredibly sweet, genuine, and happy, and gave big hugs to all; when he met her, he told her she was the only reason he still watches Arrow and she laughed

All candids are CREDIT to there OWNERS we take NO credit for THEM

Black Canary and Black Siren actress Katie Cassidy was quizzed about a possible spin-off

What will be Katie Cassidy’s fate on the hit DC series ‘Arrow’?

As the penultimate season seven draws to a close in May, fans have speculated about whether Cassidy, who has played Laurel Lance, Black Canary and Black Siren in the series, would be killed off yet again, or whether she will return to season eight, or even get her own spin-off show.

Speaking onstage at the Middle East Film and Comic Con, Cassidy said she would be onboard with a spin-off.

Sitting down with Gulf News tabloid!, the actress was vague but teased big things to come: “We’re doing our [eighth and] final season of ‘Arrow’, which will take us to November. I can’t say more yet, until I get the showrunners’ thumbs up, but there’s some pretty exciting things coming up for me.”

Cassidy was also quizzed on upcoming episode ‘Lost Canary’, airing on April 15, at a panel.

“I like my job, I don’t want to say anything I can’t say and I don’t want to get killed again! They’ve killed me off and brought me back twice already. It’s awesome,” the actress joked.

“It’s a big episode, I think that you will find out a lot about Black Siren and her backstory, but they also leave it open to potentially exploring more of that, potentially in season eight, but it’s a huge episode. It’s fun,” added Cassidy.

On which of the many iterations of her character she’s enjoyed most, Cassidy said: “It’s a tough question because I feel very close to those characters. Starting off with Laurel and Black Canary, she was all about doing things the right way, full-heartedly… When my character in season two hit rock bottom and came out on the other side and then transformed into a superhero — it was amazing. As an actor, I loved it… Once they killed me off, and they brought me back as Black Siren… I’ve had so much fun playing that character because she’s wild. I felt like there was no boundaries.”

Cassidy explained that she does character backstories based on script analysis, and sometimes even journals as her characters. She compared playing ordinary, everyday roles to embodying characters who already exist in superhero universes and have the “best fans in the world”.

“It’s definitely a little bit more tricky when you have these hardcore fans that have expectations, and I want to do the character Black Canary and Black Siren as much justice as possible, and be as authentic as possible,” said Cassidy.

“It also is kind of freeing, when [on the other hand] you get to create this character that doesn’t exist until a certain film or television show [and] you can pick and choose based off script analysis how you are going to bring the character to life. So, it’s a little bit more restrictive, it’s a bit of pressure, but I think I’ve done an okay job,” she added.

Cassidy recalled being on another big set as socialite student Juliet Sharp years ago — ‘Gossip Girl’.

“We shot in New York, and when you’re shooting on the streets of New York, by the way, FYI for everyone, it’s not illegal for paparazzi to be on set next to the camera while you’re shooting a scene. You can hear the clicks and they’re just right in your face, but they’re legally allowed to be there. That was a bit overwhelming,” said Cassidy.

“In ‘Gossip Girl’, New York was a character itself, in a way, and so it drew a lot of fans, a lot of attention, but it was cool, because it forced me — you have to stay focused and you have to stay present in the scene,” she said.

the national – Arrow star Katie Cassidy has taken her early career status as a “scream queen” to quite literal levels with her role in the CW’s DC adaptation. Her early years in movies were marked by a number of appearances in horror movies including the 2006 Canadian cult hit Black Christmas and the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Having established herself as a metaphorical scream queen in such slasher staples, she took things a stage further in 2012 – her Arrow character Black Canary, aka Laurel Lance, is a superhero whose most powerful weapon is an awesome sonic scream that can destroy objects and even kill. I ask Cassidy whether she had long harboured a desire to base her career on being “the screamy lady”.

“I didn’t know early on in my career, I just looked for projects that were character-driven,” the actress laughs. “When Arrow came along I did want to do action, so I looked into the character of the Black Canary and observed some of her characteristics in the comics, so obviously I knew screaming was going to be an aspect, but it wasn’t a planned thing.”

In fact, Cassidy reveals that she actually does very little screaming on the set of the long-running show, which saw her killed off in season four, only to be brought back in season six as Canary’s doppelganger from an alternate universe, Black Siren.

“When my character first evolved into The Black Canary, I was thinking a lot about how to do it,” she reveals. “We were shooting a lot outside at night, and when I had to scream for the very first time I thought, first of all, how are my vocal chords going to hold up to this, and second, am I going to wake up the whole neighbourhood? So I chose to keep it like a silent scream and we add it in post. It was the only way I could do it without destroying my voice.”

Cassidy also admits that when she learned her character was being written out of the show in season four, she didn’t take it too well.

“I didn’t know until two episodes before that I was going to be the one to die. It was hard. I’d put my soul into the show, blood, sweat and tears. Of course I was professional and I’d always support the show, but I was really sad. I get why they did it. As a producer or writer, killing one of the main characters off serves as a jumping-off point for the other characters, but I didn’t like it.”

Fortunately for the star, after less than a one-season break, the show’s writers clearly felt their shrill-voiced heroine was not so disposable. They took viewers to “Earth 2″, from whence Black Siren travelled to our own world to fill in for the missing Canary, first in season two of The Flash, and then in some episodes of season five of Arrow. Cassidy returned to the full cast for season six.

This in itself presented a challenge for the actress. Although Siren looks like the Canary, and has similar powers and skillsets, she’s a very different personality.

While the Canary version of Lance is a crime fighter, Siren is less morally pure, while her relationships with the show’s other characters have changed, too.

“It was strange. I recall season six, I think, I was doing scenes with Paul Blackthorne who plays my father, and we were so used to playing this father and daughter dynamic, and when I started playing scenes with him as Black Siren it was confusing,” she says. “We were both confused because she’s from Earth 2, and her father looks like Quentin, but he’s not Quentin. It’s complicated, but it’s interesting.”

Finally, following the critical and commercial success of Shazam in theatres, I ask Cassidy if she thinks we can expect to see more of DC’s less well-known characters joining the main Worlds of DC cinema universe, perhaps including her as Black Canary, or indeed Siren.

“It’s an interesting idea. I don’t feel that there are any rules whether it’s TV or film,” she says. “I would love to be involved. Maybe it’s time for a Black Canary film – it’s a time for women right now and I think it would be really interesting. I don’t know if that makes sense to Warner Bros, but I’d love to do it.”

So it looks like next week’s Arrow will not be Katie’s last on the show, Last night the cast were filming a part of the season final at Richmond City Hall and thanks to Amelia Giecek we now have unfortunately we only have LQ photos of Katie and stephen and colton from that night. Now the big news about this is Katie was not in her Black Siren costume but from what I can make out she is in her earth 1 Black Canary one or one that looks like it, So what do people think is going to happen with the upcoming episode and how Katie comes to here?

This is what Amelia had to say

at one point stephen, colton, and katie as their characters were standing up on the steps. all i could hear stephen say was “overwatch, do you have eyes on”
